Theophostic Prayer Ministry is Christ Centered Prayer

The Theophostic Prayer Ministry (TPM) Basic Training Seminar Manual defines TPM as, “Intentional and focused prayer with the desired outcome of an authentic encounter with the presence of Christ, resulting in mind renewal and subsequent transformed life.”

“Theo (God) Phostic (light) is a ministry of prayer that is Christ centered and God reliant for its direction and outcome. Simply stated, it is encouraging a person to discover and expose what he believes that is a falsehood; and then encouraging him to have an encounter with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit in prayer, thus allowing the Lord to reveal His truth to the wounded person’s heart and mind.”

Personally and professionally, Theophostic Prayer is the most powerful thing that I have ever experienced. As a therapist, I have offered TPM to people who are “emotionally stuck” or are in need of seeking God’s perspective for themselves or their circumstances. It is important to understand the distinction between counseling and prayer, as TPM is more about facilitating time for you and God to encounter one another versus my articulating or diagnosing any problem that you may have. I allow Christ to lead both of us as we encounter His truth and light.
